We’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about fans for the TiVo Roamio and the TiVo Roamio OTA DVRs – models that start with TCD846. The fans in these units are small and can get pretty loud over time.
Until now, we didn’t have a ready source of these, and we didn’t have instructions of replacing them. We now have both.

At the moment, we are only selling the fans with the Torx tools you need (three sizes: 8, 10, and 15).
Every now and then, we just find a really, really creative solution to the problem of packing a TiVo. Like, really creative.
This week, we unpacked a box that had been packed in insoles. Good enough for a runner, good enough for a TiVo:
Prices just dropped on the TiVo BOLT, down $100 to $199.99 for a 500gb and down $100 to $299.99 for a 1TB.
However, the new version of the TiVo BOLT does *not* include a year of TiVo service (valued at $149).
For a limited time, we have both version of the BOLT available, one version of the TiVo BOLT with a year of service, one version of the TiVo BOLT with no service included. Once we run out of the BOLTs with the year of service, we will no longer sell them.
The new version (V2) of the BOLT should ship out later this week; we currently estimate them arriving on or about 5/6.
The *only *difference between BOLT v1 and BOLT v2 is the inclusion (v1) or exclusion (v2) of a year of service.
The upshot: If you plan to pay for All-In pricing ($599), then get V2. Otherwise, get V1 while they last.
As we mentioned in our last blog post, we’ve been working with Western Digital’s newest 8 TB drives. We have them available in many of our products, and now we’re ready to announce another one for sale, with immediate availability.
You can now order a Roamio Pro with 16 TB of recording space. This unit will hold up to 2570 HD hours, or an insane 17725 hours of standard definition content. This unit has an internal 8 TB drive, and an external 8 TB drive. And this is, most definitely, the largest TiVo ever.
