Found the BEST REMNOTE CONTROL for DirecTV Tivo i have ever seen. Absolutely ROCKS. Go to Amazon.com (or Ebay or look around – whatever), and look for the “All for one RC65RB”. I know – the model number is so similar to the stock remote BUT…..THIS remote is completely BACKLIT, so when you hit a button, all buttons light up. Secondly, it has a button on the right side about where the “Record’ button is only on the side which turns on the backlight for 5 seconds. Lastly, it comes with an antenna for RF capability. For those who don’t understand the significance here: IR means Infra-red, and you can only use the remote short distances from the box. RF means “Radio Frequency” – this is the cool part: you can get a splitter which are available anywhere, run coax into another room, and operate your main box from another room on the TV that you ran the coax from the splitter. For example: I have a High Def receiver in my living room. I ran a splitter and ran the coax right into the back of the TV in the bedroom – no receiver required. Then I used the remote i described above and can operate the living room box 4 rooms away. This way I don’t need to buy another box – AWESOME. I’m at [email protected] for any ?’s. Much luck!
