We’re always looking for another video storage unit to upgrade, and it looks like we’ve found one: the LG BD690 Blu-ray Vudu box. If you’ve got one, it’s got a 250 GB drive in it. We can upgrade it to 1 or 2 TB.

I got the LG BD690 a few weeks ago and love it but I’m running out of space on the 250GB HDD. So i bought a 2TB HDD and switch the drives and now the 2TB drive will not format no matter what I do. It just shows as unallocated space and when i tried to format the drive and get the error “write protected” Please help!
I wish I could give away the secret sauce here, but I’m sure you understand that we have to make money somehow.
? Does the modified LG-BD690-“X” retain the full functionality of the factory LG-BD690 ? Specifically, if I load several thousand CD’s in the modified unit, can it sort all of them per the typical media library functions ? Or is there some factory software “limit” on the number of music files that can be handled and sorted ? Please advise. I’m in the market for one or two of the 2-Tb LG-BD690-“X” from you, Weaknees. Please advise. Thank you.

Thank youi MIchael. I anticipate getting a LG-BD690 from a source in about 10 days and then shipping it down to you in SoCal for modification. I’ll be in touch. I assume you don’t have any raw stock at hand. Got to move fast, that LG model is discontinued.
