Early News on the Series 3 Upgrades

We expect to have these on the site later today for pre-order with orders shipping sometime next week. In the meantime, here are some screen shots from a Series 3 TiVo with a 750 GB drive.

Here’s the System Information screen:

And here’s the Recording Quality screen for SD recordings:

So you get up to 98 HD hours or up to 927 SD hours, or a combination of both, depending on all of the usual factors.

As of now, there is no external drive support, so this is the only way to get more than 32 hours of HD recording out of these units.

Watch here for more info as we have it!

I have a Sony SVR-3000 with a lifetime Tivo plan. It has two drives upgrade by you about 4 years ago. Are lifetime plans transferable from such a unit to the large Series 3 units????

I am certain that you have seen the TIVO ads that state that you can transfer your Lifetime service to the new HD Tivo box for $199. I’m thinking *strongly* about doint this transer and then buying a 750 GB hard drive upgrade from Weaknees.

Hi,
I have a series 1 and two series 2 units in the same room. I have HD tv but i’m unable to take advantage of that feature. A serie 3 HD capablility would fix that with a higher fee to the cable company for the HD feed of course. I still have a desire to record 4 shows at once. If I keep the 1 and 2 units will the series 3 remote signal conflit with either/both the series 1 or 2 models?
